1. Introduction

These General Terms and Conditions of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of MyDonorFamily and the website www.mydonorfamily.com (the “Service”).

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Code of Conduct, which form part of the agreement between you and MyDonorFamily.

If you purchase Premium Membership, the Subscription Terms for Premium Membership also apply.

2. About the Service

MyDonorFamily is an online platform where donor offspring and parents with donor children may connect with others linked to the same sperm donor or egg donor.

The Service includes donor groups where members may share messages, photos and other relevant information.

MyDonorFamily provides a technical platform only. We do not guarantee that you will find, contact, or receive replies from donor siblings, donor parents, donors or other users.

We do not independently verify biological relationships, donor identity or the accuracy of donor information submitted by users.

3. Membership Types

Basic Membership

Basic Membership is free of charge and gives limited access to your donor group.

Basic members may:

Basic members may not view group content, photos, chat or member details.

Premium Membership

Premium Membership gives access to available premium features in the relevant donor group, including group content, chat, photos, donor information or donor profile where available, activity notifications, and donor relation tools.

4. Registration and Accounts

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.

You are responsible for entering correct donor information. MyDonorFamily is not responsible for incorrect donor group placement caused by inaccurate or incomplete information submitted by you.

You must be at least 15 years old to hold your own account.

Only one account is allowed per person, unless there is a legitimate reason for more than one account, for example where a parent has donor children linked to different donors.

You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential.

5. User Content and Privacy

You retain ownership of the content you upload.

By uploading content, you grant MyDonorFamily a non-exclusive right to host, store, display and process that content as necessary to operate, secure and improve the Service.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to upload the content you share, including photos and information about other people.

You must only upload personal information or photos of minors where you have legal authority or valid consent to do so.

Messages and information received through the Service must be treated confidentially and must not be shared outside the Service without consent or other lawful justification.

6. Donor Privacy and Anonymity

Users must respect donor anonymity and the privacy of other members.

You must not attempt to identify, trace, contact or disclose information that may reveal the identity of a donor, unless such disclosure is lawful and based on mutual consent.

You must not use the Service to bypass anonymity settings or to pressure other members into revealing their identity.

7. Moderation, Reporting and Enforcement

MyDonorFamily may remove content, restrict access, suspend accounts or terminate memberships where reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms or the Code of Conduct, protect other users, protect donor anonymity, comply with law, or safeguard the Service.

Users may report content or behaviour that appears unlawful or in breach of these Terms or the Code of Conduct by contacting info@mydonorfamily.com.

Where relevant, MyDonorFamily may review uploaded content and messages where reasonably necessary to investigate reported abuse, suspected violations, safety concerns, legal obligations, or protection of donor anonymity.

MyDonorFamily may also access donor groups where reasonably necessary to help ensure that members are placed in the correct donor group based on the donor information provided during registration.

If we remove content, suspend access or terminate an account, we will normally inform you of the reason, unless we are legally prevented from doing so or there are overriding safety concerns.

You may request a review of a moderation decision by contacting us at info@mydonorfamily.com.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the Service available and functioning properly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Downtime, delays or data loss may occur due to maintenance, updates, technical failures, third-party outages, cyber incidents, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MyDonorFamily is not liable for:

10. Mandatory Rights

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights.

11. Termination and Deletion

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your account or membership if you seriously or repeatedly violate these Terms or the Code of Conduct, or where this is necessary to protect users, donor anonymity, legal compliance or platform integrity.

We may retain limited information after account deletion where required by law, for security reasons, or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Danish law.

Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory rights a consumer may have under applicable law.
